Here comes Bottas

13 July 2017  10:06 AM

In the battle for Formula 1 World Championship monopolized by  Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton a third party in discordance may add to that duet: Valtteri Bottas.

The Finnish driver from team Mercedes begins to knock on doors to get into the fight for the Crown after his recent victory in Austria Formula 1 Grand Prix.

After nine dates, Bottas is the third in the chart, with 136 points only 15 units away from his fellow ship from the Silver Arrows, the British, Lewis Hamilton; and 35 units away from the current leader, the German from Ferrari, Sebastian Vettel.

This weekend, Valtteri has big mathematic chances to overrun Hamilton at the British Formula 1 Grand Prix, for a second world position and get face to face with Vettle.

On the last three dates (Canada, Azerbaijan and Austria), Bottas climbed up the podium during each of them and proved to be the most productive driver, when adding 61 points, compared to the 42 points of Vettel and the 47 added to this cause by Hamilton.

Bottas does not want to miss the chance of having the same weapons that Hamilton  has; and during his first year on Mercedes’ rows he expects to add his name as the fourth Finnish driver conquering the World Driver Championship to a list that includes names as Keke Rosberg (1982), Mika Hakkinen (1998).

Valtteri Bottas was born on August 28, 1989 in Nastola Finland and began kart racing at the age of six. He debuted in F1 at the Austrian Formula One Grand Prix in 2013 with team Williams.

During Valtteri’s five participations at the British test, it stands out the second place he got with Williams on 2014 edition, when he crossed the finish line only 30”.135 away from Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes.

Without a doubt, Hamilton is the favorite to win British Formula 1 Grand Prix. The British can boast of his four victories at the Silverstone circuit with six podiums and nine of his 10 participations on this layout, during which he finished on the scoring zone.

In Great Britain, Vettel has only score done victory got in 2009 with Red Bull, climbing up the podium at Silverstone four times.

Another driver who can add the victory at Silverstone, is Daniel Ricciardo from Red Bull. The Australian keeps his impressive pass on the current season, with five podiums in recent days that place him in the fourth position of the World Championship with 107 points.

Sergio Pérez may consider Silverstone his second home. The Mexican driver raced in 2007 and 2008, at the British Formula 3, winning the National Classification on his first year; besides his actual team, Force India owns that circuit.

The layout located in Northamptonshire, will represent the first extreme test for the new aerodynamics rules that  those racing cars taking Silverstone’s curves at the highest speed thanks to a greater ”down force” and  wider tires will have to fulfill.

The Italian firm, Pirelli, considered medium, soft and ultra-soft compounds which is why, a one –pit-stop strategy is to be expected for the race that marks the half of the calendar.

The season is getting more and more interesting with every race, which is why you cannot miss Formula 1 Gran Premio de México that will take place from October 27 to October 29 at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Get your tickets on Ticketmaster System or calling  5325 9000.
