A more sustainable Mexico GP 2023

A more sustainable Mexico GP 2023

19 October 2023

On the way to becoming a more sustainable MexicoGP

Committed to protecting the environment and social well-being, we are strengthening our sustainability strategy this year. To achieve this, we have implemented a series of initiatives based on four pillars: Waste management plan, Water care, Inclusion and well-being and Local community.

HYDRATION POINTS

We will have 8 hydration points located in different areas of the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

In order to reduce single-use plastics you will find free commemorative and reusable recycled aluminum cups. These have the latest technology system that can filter and cool water, in addition to reducing waste.

IMPROVEMENT OF OUR MATERIALS

Replacing single-use plastics with cups made of compostable and recyclable materials.

In the Green, Orange, High Blue, and Low Blue Zone you will find activation points in collaboration with Tetra Pak® with free water carton packages which you can deposit in special containers for recycling, once these are empty.

PROMOTION OF THE CULTURE OF WASTE SEPARATION

Special waste islands with Environmental Agents will be activated in the Yellow and Orange Zone to encourage the separation of waste into organic and recyclable.

DRY TOILETS

As part of the actions to preserve water, ecological options will be offered through dry toilets located in the Green and Blue Zone, which seek to save around 45,000 liters of water.

INCLUSION AND ACCESSIBILITY

Two stands will be installed for people with disabilities in the Green and Blue Zone. On the other hand, to continue improving accessibility; ramps, bathrooms and activations that adapt to the needs of attendees in wheelchairs will be installed.

To continue opening the doors for occupational inclusion of people with different types of disabilities, the event will have 41 inclusive hosts with motor or intellectual disabilities in the entertainment and hospitality activations, as well as massage therapists with visual disabilities and a sign language translator during the singing of the Mexican National Anthem at the inauguration ceremony.

CREATION OF ALLIANCES OF SHARED VALUE

The Mexico GP shared its vision, commitment, and tools with the event suppliers in order to expand the impact and create a chain of collaboration that promotes innovation and sustainable development.
