113,698 people gathered together on the second day of FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 2016 F1ESTA.

In front of a crowd of 113,698 people, the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez witnessed a second day of activity at the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 2016™. The audience was in charge of setting the mood and cheering both Mexican drivers on each of their appearances on track.
Lewis Hamilton was the fastest on track during the classification session beating his team-mate Nico Rosberg to assure the pole position. On the other hand, Sergio “Checo” Pérez y Esteban Gutiérrez couldn’t manage to pass to the Q3 and so tomorrow these two will need more support from Mexicans than ever, to make a great race.
“Checo” will start from the 12th position, while Esteban will begin his first Grand Prix in Aztec land from the place #17.

Meanwhile, during Masters Historic Racing journey, K. Kubota became the first winner of the week, since he took the full advantage of his exit from the pole position to drive his Lotus 78 at full speed and so reaching the victory after 10 laps.

On the other hand, the Mexican National Anthem was listened at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez given Mexicans Alexis Carreño and Jose Sierra got the 1st and 2nd place on the first FIA Formula 4 NACAM race.
Among celebrities and figures that attended the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 2016™ today, there were Mexico’s former president Felipe Calderón, the Spanish former football player Carles Puyol, Lenox Lewis – former professional boxer–, Ximena Navarrete Miss Universo 2010’s winner and top model Petra Nemcova.

After a first successful year, Mexicans crave for the highpoint moment of FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO 2016™, when the winner step up into the highest place of the podium in front of an audience, which according to drivers is one of the most fervent of the championship.
