There are only 40 days away from the celebration of the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 2016™ and the percentage of sold tickets has increased to 90%. Which is why, organizers are inviting those without tickets to purchase them as soon as possible.

“We are really happy with the response of the audience along this second year. We recommend to those fans who have not purchased tickets, to do it shortly in order to attend to the F1ESTA.” stated FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 2016™ , CEO– Federico Gonzalez Compean.

This way last ticket sale campaign was launched and a recount of available seats was carried out so everybody enjoy the highest category of motor racing in our country.

Banamex and Santander card holders have now the option of purchasing their tickets within 6-months no interests.

Besides, information about access to the event and transportation, alternative entertainment and supporting categories, as well as offer and food and beverages sale was shared; in order to inform in proper time and manner to those who will attend to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez next October 28, 29 and 30.

“After the success in 2015 we have work really hard to exceed our own expectations and the audience’s”, said, the event’s Marketing and Public Relations Director, – Rodrigo Sanchez. “We have focused on every detail to give our audience a yet better experience”, added.

Access to the event and transportation

Organizers are also cooperating with the authorities of Mexico City Government to provide secure options to make easier the arrival to the facilities. It is important to mention that the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez will not provide parking service, which is why again this year we insist attendees on leaving their cars at home or at the closest parking lots. This is how we recommend the arrival on public transportation:

  • Subway* – There are 3 stations close to the Autodromo (Line 9: Velodromo, Ciudad Deportiva and Puebla) which are also close to some of the access doors.
  • Metrobus* – There are 2 stations close to the facilities (Line 2: Iztacalco and UPIICSA).
  • Official cabs authenticated by local authorities.
  • Private personal transportation – on mobile apps.

*With special safety deployments implemented by Mexico City authorities.

As in 2015, people will be able to use the Circuit Bus that surrounds the Autodromo with bus stops at each of the access doors.

A more detailed plan is being elaborated with Mexico City Government support and will be revealed shortly.

If attendees look for other options, Ticket2ride is the transportation service which shall be purchased at any time before the race begins. This is a round transportation service from different departure points within Mexico City (Bosques de las Lomas, Galerias Coapa, Mundo E, Perisur, Plaza Lindavista, Santa Fe and Hipodromo de las Americas) whose single destination is the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

It works with two departure schedules – same for Friday, Saturday and Sunday – 7:00 and 8:30 hours. On the other hand, at the end of the event, the transport will pick users up to return them back to their initial points. On Friday departures will be at 16:30 and 17:30 hours, while on Saturday and Sunday they will do it at 15:00 and 17:30 hours.

It was also pointed that different zones of the Autodromo are not internally interconnected, reason why it is pretty important to enter the facilities by the access indicated in tickets.

Alternative Entertainment and supporting categories

Different activities have been prepared to make of the audience living experience, a total party inside and outside the track over three days.

Several music groups to suit all tastes will be playing in five different stages placed all over the different areas of the facility.

The concerts billboard includes the participation of some bands like: Help – a famous Beatles’ covers band–, the covers band Heels on Fire – a ‘rockabilly’ style show–, Samsons –also playing original songs–, James –pop music–, Five Fingers –Rock songs in Spanish and English, as well as the originals Rumberos de Massachusetts.

Meanwhile, the adrenaline will grow hand in hand with Masters Historic Racing supporting categories and Formula 4, which will complement the main action on track, after have been well received by the Mexican fans in 2015.

  • Masters Historic Racing: formed by a grid of historic Formula 1® cars from the 70’s and early 80’s which will bring to the audience a thrilling exhibition of yesteryears.
  • Formula 4: working as a prelude of Formula 1® for developing drivers. Over 20 cars with 30 races in 8 different venues around the Mexican Republic will participate in our country.

Soon both categories’ Organizations and CIE will reveal further information about their participation in the event.

In addition, the experience will be extended to attendees of all ages, thanks to activities at the F1 GameZone and the F1Village, at the same time official merchandise will be on sale – as of the event as of teams – in different establishments of the Autodromo.

Mobile Apps

An official Mobile Application will be available of free downloading or updating in App Store and Google Play.

They will provide useful information for the attendees, such as schedules, services, tips for the event and recommendations to enjoy Mexico City in parallel with the racing.

Among their innovations, the application will be available for different devices, leading users to their seats and will display a food and beverage catalogue to speed purchasing process up.

Information about its launching date and use will be revealed soon.

Food and beverage

In this 2016 variety offered in 2015 will remain, so visitors enjoy again products of top quality.

And so, Burger King, Domino’s Pizza, El Califa, Sushi Itto, Starbucks, Sabritas, will be present as well as products like Coca-Cola and Heineken. However, some options like La Castellana, Helados Nestle and Nutrisa were added.

Besides, to extend the gastronomic experience, Bier Gartens and thematic restaurants will be also installed around the Autodromo.

Aware that in 2015 food and beverage sale was an opportunity area, the process was analyzed and identified the charging format was identified as suitable and waiting periods were actually caused by the process of supplying to the huge amount of attendees.

There is no restaurant able to provide food service for 100 thousand people at the same time.

That is why this year three charging formats will be implemented in order to speed up and facilitate the process for the attendees:

  1. Multi-cashiers. Available for zones Green, Blue and Yellow, in this format, customer must pay his order in cashier modules first, where customer will receive a ticket that will be redeemed later at the food and beverages establishments.

As for the food, customer may choose between one ticket issued for the total amount of his order – that should be redeemed in that moment – or several tickets issued for unit bill – to be redeemed at any time during the three days of the event. For beverages, unit tickets will be delivered for the total purchase.

  1. Shopping Mall. Available for zones Orange, Foro Sol North and Foro Sol South, it is possible to pay the bill directly at the food and beverage stands, where customer will receive their products. The offer for this sites includes pizza, hamburgers, chips, water, soda and beer.
  2. Vending. Available in every zone, vendors enter directly into the grandstands to offer and sell products. Under this mode – which is unstoppable – customer may buy pizza, hamburgers, chips, water, sodas and beer. Accepting cash payment only.

After the experience in 2015 some improvements were carried out:

  • Service in kitchens had tripled in order to speed up attention time.
  • All cashiers will accept any payment method (credit and debit cards, cash).
  • Clearer signaling
  • Expansion of food service vending.
  • Printing of individual tickets or for the total amount of food and beverages.

In addition, some recommendations were issued in order to speed up purchasing process and improve the experience.

  • Pre-purchase of food and beverage tickets for their use during the event from day one.
  • To check out the special section of the official app to take your order in advance.

To make use of vending and the availability of ATMs to make cash payments.

Organizers expressed their gratitude to one of their local strategic partners: Banamex, Coca-Cola, GNP, Hidrosina, Loteria Nacional, Santander and Telcel –Infinitum.

They also concluded confirming the participation for second year in a row of the legendary driver Emerson Fittipaldi as ambassador of FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 2016™. The Mexican Adrian Fernandez joined the Brazilian as the new ‘piece’ to transmit to the world the excitement of the Mexican F1ESTA to be celebrated next October.
