Ferrari’s German driver, Sebastian Vettel beat his rival, the British Lewis Hamilton with three points ahead, on the competition for the title in Formula 1 2017 European season, which concluded last Sunday in Italy. For the nine dates of the top category in motor racing celebrated at the Old Continent, Vettel scored 155 points over the 152 got by Hamilton. Mercedes’ British driver is the current leader of the World Championship, after 13 competitions and 238 units, three ahead from Vettel, who was the classification leader at the beginning of the season. Perseverance was the key in Europe for Ferrari’s German driver. Despite having gotten only two victories (in Monaco and Hungary), he got seven podiums after finishing in the second position in Russia, Spain, Austria, Belgium and third in Italy. Meanwhile, during the European season, Hamilton has climbed the podium on the four Grand Prixes where he emerged victorious: Spain, Great Britain, Belgium and Italy. Valtteri Bottas, Hamilton’s Finnish teammate in Mercedes and third place at Drivers’ World Championship, took advantage of the nine European competitions to his cause by scoring in that continent, 141 points out of the 197 that he usually scores in the year. Only five dates away from the Formula 1 Gran Premio de México, Hamilton is now the driver with the best rhythm after having been the first one to get two consecutive victories during the present season, after his triumphs got in Spa-Francorchamps and Monza’s tracks. This season, Lewis also got some victories in China and Canada, while Vettel finished victorious in Australia and Bahrain. The Great Circus is now packaging its bags towards the beginning of a three-date tour in Asia, to honor its commitments in Singapore, Malaysia and Japan, before travelling to America and compete in USA and Mexico, next October 29 in the Autodromo Hermanos Rodríguez. However, Vettel and his team expect to make it to their night appointment in Singapore, where the racing car SF70H may adjust better to the street layout’s features. Ferraris’ were greatly exceeded at Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix by Mercedes’ Silver Arrows, which crossed the finish line with over 30 seconds of advantage. Since 2007 when the Finnish, Kimi Räikkonen got the F1 World Title, there hasn’t been a driver to get it. Only with thirteen dates, Vettel has already exceeded the 212 points he scored for season 2016, when he finished fourth in the general chart. Mercedes gets 435 points total at the Builders’ World Championship, with a 62-unit advantage over Ferrari. Maranello’s team has not won a Formula 1 World Championship since 2008. Hamilton is the defender champion of Formula 1 Gran Premio de México, and Mercedes has monopolized the victory at the Hermanos Rodriguez since this racing returned to the world calendar in 2015.
