McLAREN -Since the implementation of Renault power unit, it is the first one of its cars does not finish, this time due to an accident occurred during the first lap. FERRARI -They had been showing accurate strategies this year’s races, but not at the Spanish GP. -Besides, this time Kimi Raikkonen could not manage to finish for the second time in the year; given a mechanical failure. -Since 2017 American GP, they had been stepping to the podiums, at least on board of one of its cars, that was eight races ago; but they went down during the ninth race. RED BULL -With its 150th podium during 244 races (in 14 F1 seasons). They occupy the sixth place in the history of podiums gotten by teams. They owned the first row of the grid and got their first doublet while arriving to the finish line in 2018. -It’s been 78 victories in 11 seasons, 172 Grand Prix races finished. They are now in fifth place by teams, since 1950 but really close to Lotus- who owns 81 victories–. -In Spain they already have four won races: three by Lewis Hamilton (2014, 2017 and 2018) and one by Nico Rosberg (2015). -They have 41 doublets (one-two) in its historic record. ABOUT THE RACERS ROMAIN GROSJEAN -He’s got 38 drop outs for an average of 29.92%.He has 127 races; setting him in the 80th box of the statistics, next to the South African racer, Jody Sheckter (33.93%) and the Swedish, Stefan Johansson (48.10%) the three of them have dropped out during official tests the same number of times. -He has abandoned races during the first turn for seven times. Just like the North American, Mario Andretti; the racer from San Paulo, Ayrton Senna; the Italian, Michele Alboreto; the British, Johnny Herbert; the French, Jean Alesi; the British, Eddie Irvine; the French Olivier Panis; the two German racers Ralf and Michael Schumacher; also the British Jenson Button and Vettel, once did. The eleven racers are in the position number 14 of the statistics. NICO HULKENBERG -He dropped out nine times without finishing the first lap. He is now at the sixth position of the statistics, next to: Jean-Pierre Jarier from France; Giancarlo Fisichella from Italy and to the British, David Coulthard.  -In Spain, he couldn’t finished two races (one in 2016, on board a car on fire over turn 20th and the second during the current, 2018) in Barcelona he finished the races scoring three times (in 2012, 2014 and 2017) out of eight opportunities. -Up to Azerbaijan GP and the current GP, he had scored in 5 consecutive races (since 2017 Brazilian GP). -He made it to the 140 races without getting a single podium. KIMI RAIKKONEN -This is his 65th dropped race (23.55%) just like the Italian racer, Pierluigi Martini (with the 55.08%) on the position # 29 of statistics. -Last year Kimi could not finish the Spanish GP either; given the hook he suffered on the first lap. However, he finished second in 2016. He’s won Spanish GP, twice (the first in 2005 on board McLaren and the second one, in 2008 with Ferrari). STOFFEL VANDOORNE -He abandoned at the 45th turn, due to McLaren’s transmission. -He hadn’t abandoned a GP since Brazil, a year before. He’s got six drop outs in his total (24%) and has made it to his race # 25. CHARLES LECLERC -Another great exhibition from the racer of Monaco, links two consecutive GP’s when it comes to scores. Not common for Sauber, that didn’t happen since 2015 when the Brazilian racer, Felipe Nasr scored –continuously- in Russia and United States. -The other racer from Monaco, having obtained points was Louis Chiron in 1950 there at the principality. -This way, Leclerc is now the only racer from Montecarlo with double score in Formula 1. SERGIO PEREZ -He’s managed to score in two consecutive races. It’s his first time in 2018. He achieved such feat –in 2017– in eight consecutive tests: since Italian GP until the last one that year in Abu Dhabi. FERNANDO ALONSO -He is now completing his race number 296. Getting to make it to the finish line in 237 of them, same number of finished races for Michael Schumacher who raced up to 307 opportunities. -The Asturian has now 244 races, in which he classified (for an 82.43%); this way tying Jenson Button (with the 79.74%) who participated in 306 GP’s. Both of them are at the top of charts of classification to more official races. -The Spanish racer, two-time champion, has already accumulated eight Grand Prix races, scoring consecutively. In Barcelona he wouldn’t manage to score since 2014, when was part of Ferrari. CARLOS SAINZ -The racer from Madrid, has collected great performances at his land of origin. In four of the races held “at home”, he has scored. His best arrival was in 2016 –with Toro Rosso when he finished in sixth position– before that, he had also finished in the seventh position, a year before. -He has scored consecutively on the three most recent races. KEVIN MAGNUSSEN -All the points collected for team Haas, comes from him. During this season, he managed to score at Bahrain (10); China (1) and now (8). -He finished in sixth place, at 2014 Russian GP –on board McLaren– he also reached the sixth position. But the best for him is the podium gotten in Australia (also in 2014 on board McLaren) when he finished second; thanks to Daniel Ricciardo’s disqualifying, due to the fuel consumption excess. DANIEL RICCIARDO -Setting again the fastest lap of the race; for the third time out of the five races carried out in the season. Reaching a total of 12 laps + fast (for an 8.96%). -He’s got as many as the Italian Alberto Ascari (with the 37.50%); or like Jack Brabham from Australia (with the 9.76%); or the French René Arnoux (8.05%) as well as the Colombian racer, Juan Pablo Montoya (12.77%). All five set in the position 27th of the statistics. SEBASTIAN VETTEL -Just like in Baku, he is now in the fourth place, having finished between the best four to the finish line in Barcelona, four times consecutively. The most recent race he won in Montmeló was during season 2011 on board Red Bull. MAX VERSTAPPEN -His 12th podium (18.46%) in 65 races. The most recent was gotten in Mexico last year –won race– his first time on a podium happened in Spain 2016; he’s got two, since he has also achieved one in Malaysia and Japan (in 2016 and 2017 respectively). -With a dozen of podiums, Max is in the box 67 of statistics. Just like the Swedish, Johansson (15.19%) and the Polish, Robert Kubica (15.79%) once did.  VALTTERI BOTTAS -He has classified at the end of the tests, since Monaco GP vega; it has been 19 GP’s and he was left out the scoring chart only in Baku, fifteen days ago; however, he managed to classified. -With 102 races he has gotten 25 podiums (24.51%). He is placed within the statistics in the number 40, together with the Belgian Jacky Ickx (21.93%). LEWIS HAMILTON -This is his 64th victory (30.05%) second place of all times in won races and his setting his 74th Pole Position (34.74%) more than anyone else. -It’s worthy to mention this has been his 41st victory starting from the Pole; and he is already beating Michael Schumacher, to whom it took 40 trials to achieve it. -LH is the first in F1 (since 1950) completing 30 consecutive races, scoring in a row. -He also reached the 30 continuous races without dropping out, with a streak that began in 2016 Japanese GP, he is now tied with Kimi Raikkonen who achieved that same feat between 2012 and 2013. -He only needs to reach three racers: Button with 36 (between 2012 and2014); the racer from Mexico Sergio Pérez who has accumulated 37 (between 2015 and 2017) and the German Nick Heidfeld –who is a record man– with 41 GP finished (between 2007 and 2009). -The British has seven podiums in Spain, as many as those reached in Canada, England and Bahrain. On the contrary, he’s got eight in China and Australia. -He has a total of 121 podiums (56.81%); he is the second in the history with the biggest number, just behind Michael S., who reached 155 (50.49%). -Hamilton adds three victories in the Spanish Grand Prix races, same as Jackie Stewart (with 1 in Jarama in 1970 and two at Park Montjuïc, in 1969 and 1971 respectively); Nigel Mansell (one in Jerez de la Frontera in 1987, and 2 in Barcelona, 1991 and 1992); Alain Prost (with a couple in Jerez, 1988 and 1990 respectively, as well as Barcelona’s in 1993); finally those gotten by Mika Hakkinen (who achieved 3 in Barcelona: 1998, 1999 and 2000). - Lewis secured triumph for himself in Barcelona last and current year. M. Schumacher gained four from 2001 to 2004.
