2022 FORMULA 1 MEXICO CITY GRAND PRIX Presented by Heineken ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC MOBILITY PLAN

  • NO parking is offered for the public at the circuit. Off-site parking with shuttle service to the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez will be available on various locations in the city from 07:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Subway line 9, Metrobus Line 2, and Trolleybus Line 2 are the recommended choices for public transportation.
  • It is recommended to use remote parking lots, public transportation or the Ticketmaster Ticket2Ride system

 

Mexico City´s Government will implement a strategic mobility plan so that Mexico City´s inhabitants and visitors can enjoy the best possible experience getting to and from the 2022 FORMULA 1 MEXICO CITY GRAND PRIX Presented by Heineken.

 

To improve mobility around the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, special bus routes have been scheduled to allow ticket holders to board a shuttle from off-site parking lots, as there will NOT be parking available on site. Shuttle buses will also be available to take fans back to their selected off-site parking.

 

Shuttle buses will be available between the track and the following off-site parking areas:

  • Hipódromo de las Américas/Centro Citibanamex (cash only)

Av. del Conscripto, Hipódromo Gate “C” 

 

  • Auditorio Nacional (shuttle area)

Auditorio Nacional, shuttle area

 

  • Plaza Carso (cash only)

Presa Falcón street, Plaza Carso

 

  • Expo México Santa Fe

  • Estadio Azteca, Gate 8

* For other parking lots, payment must be made with a subway card. Subway cards for sale as well as balance recharges will be available at all parking locations.

 

A total of 64 special buses will operate the shuttle service departing for the Autodromo Hermanos Rodríguez from each off-site parking locations approximately every 15 minutes between 07:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Returning shuttles will be departing back to the parking locations between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Subway card balance recharges will also be available for attendees who already have a subway card.

 

Only buses departing from the Hipódromo de las Américas and Plaza Carso will accept cash payments. For all other routes, the only valid payment method will be a Mexico City Subway card (Tarjeta de Movilidad Integrada). Subway cards for sale and balance recharges will be available at off-site parking locations.

 

Shuttles will only stop at three designated drop-off areas at the track:

 

  • Eje 3 Sur Añil (just ahead of Palacio de los Deportes gate 7)
  • Viaducto Río Piedad (halfway between gates 8 and 9)
  • Eje 4 Oriente (halfway between gates 12 and 13)

 

There will also be a designated boarding area at the corner of Eje 3 Sur Añil and Río Churubusco, where you will be able to take a shuttle back to your selected off-site parking location. Returning shuttles will be running from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

 

To help avoid congestion in the area, free transportation will be available around the perimeter of the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez (6 RTP, 4 Metrobús y 3 Trolebús), so attendees can get as close as possible to their designated entrance gate.

 

A pick-up and drop-off zone will be enabled at Gate 6 of the Palacio de los Deportes for transport by mobile apps. Likewise, taxi bases will be enabled at Gate 15 of the Autodromo and on Avena Street. There will be a parking lot for bicycles in the Palacio de los Deportes.

 

For ease and convenience, the government of Mexico City recommends attendees of the 2022 FORMULA 1 MEXICO CITY GRAND PRIX Presented by Heineken to use public transportation:

 

  • Subway line 9 in Velódromo, Ciudad Deportiva or Puebla stations
  • Metrobus line 2, Iztacalco and UPIICSA stations
  • Trolleybus line 2, Ciudad Deportiva, Puerta 8 and Puebla stations
  • Bus routes 1, 9, 11, 27, 78, M1 Bicentenario and the Sausa Corridor

 

A safety perimeter will be implemented to enhance mobility around the track. If you need to drive in the area, please consider the following alternatives:

Westbound:

  Av. Pantitlán - Xochimilco

  Eje 1 Norte Fuerza Aérea Mexicana

  Eje 5 Sur Purísima

 

Please note that the outer road lanes of Río Churubusco in the vicinity of the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez will remain closed, so all vehicle traffic must use the central road lanes.

 

Additionally, thanks to the alliance of the Secretariat of Mobility (SEMOVI) with the Waze for Cities program, drivers will be able to choose the best route to reach their destination, as data updated in real time by the Waze community will be available to support mobility and traffic during the event.
