Lando Norris secured a crucial victory in the sprint race of the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, held under challenging wet conditions. The McLaren driver perfectly capitalized on a timely safety car intervention to make his pit stop, retaining the lead and controlling the race until the checkered flag.
His teammate, Oscar Piastri, finished second, securing a dominant 1-2 for McLaren. Lewis Hamilton completed the podium for Ferrari, collecting valuable points as he remains in contention near the top of the standings.
The sprint was full of drama. Charles Leclerc failed to take the start after crashing during the formation lap. Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso were also forced to retire due to separate incidents in the opening laps of the race.
Max Verstappen, who had started from a competitive position, was handed a 10-second penalty for an unsafe release in the pits, which dropped him down to 17th place by the end.
