Verstappen Takes Pole in Miami After a Tight Qualifying Battle

04 May 2025  01:15 PM

Max Verstappen secured pole position for the 2025 Miami Grand Prix with a blistering lap of 1:26.204, edging out Lando Norris by just 65 thousandths of a second. Mercedes rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli impressed once again, taking third place only 67 thousandths off Verstappen’s benchmark, setting up an extremely close front row.

Oscar Piastri will start from fourth, followed by George Russell in fifth. Carlos Sainz, bouncing back from a crash in the sprint race, qualified sixth. Alexander Albon and Charles Leclerc locked out the fourth row in seventh and eighth, while Esteban Ocon and Yuki Tsunoda completed the top 10.

Lewis Hamilton failed to make it into Q3 and will start from 12th. Fernando Alonso endured a difficult weekend and will line up in 17th position.
