The traditional FIA Gala Awards will take place this Friday at the famous Parisian nightclub, Lido, a glamorous event where the most outstanding in motorsports world is awarded.

After 23 years absent, the Formula 1 comeback to our country has been continuously surprising. Las November 1, we witnessed an event like few attended by a devoted audience that made drivers feel like real gladiators, according to the BBC in a mood that could only be possible in Mexico; that’s why FIA informed Corporacion Interamericana de Entretenimiento (CIE), promoter of FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 2015® its designation as “Best Promoter of the Year”.

The trophy for “Best Promoter of the Year” is one of the most important awards granted by FIA and FOM, and forms part of the awards personally granted by Bernie Ecclestone, together with the “Best TV broadcast of the year” and the “Best National Sport Association”. The award for best promotor, takes into account the track quality, planning, execution and event logistic, amongst other aspects.

Alejandro Soberon Kuri, Chief Executive and General Manager of CIE is the one who will receive the important award this Friday: “On behalf CIE and all those who worked on FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 2015® planning and execution, I thank FIA and FOM for this award. It is an honor for us to receive it, since it represents the hard work of thousands of people that for so many months put their effort and dedication to make of the Gran Premio de Mexico a huge event; this prize honors each of them all. The Gran Premio a Mexico hadn’t been possible without the cooperation of public and private industry; which is why I want to thank the Federal Government of Mexico, through the Tourism Secretariat with the help of the Tourism Promotion Council which supported us incredibly, I also recognize Mexico City Government effort for all the hard work and facilities provided to make this event possible”, he said.

The executive also thanked event sponsors; America Movil, Banamex, Coca Cola, Corona, Diageo and Santander as an essential part of the racing success and added: “Mexico is a country that stands out for its culture, its people joy and warmth, also for the passion of Mexicans, this award had never been possible without these features that can only be found amongst fans in our country. This is Mexico’s prize!”, finished.

FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 2015® organization received positive comments from the end of the race; famous personalities of motorsports such as Niki Lauda o Lewis Hamilton acknowledged the incredible work of CIE on the development of the same. The prize granted by FIA next Friday, reiterates our country and people’s capability to exhibit such high quality events, at the level of countries like France, Great Britain or United States.

FIA Awards Ceremony is hold every year at the close of the General Assembly, representing the end of the season and it is a party where all world motorsport champions celebrate triumphs achieved in the year.

Among the awards granted by FIA on this ceremony there are also included the Formula 1 World Championship for both, driver and manufacturer, Rallies World Championship, FIA Award for Celebrity of the Year, FIA Award for Moment of the Year, FIA Award to the Outstanding Officer, among others.
