UNDISPUTED PODIUM FOR SERGIO PEREZ

19 June 2016  12:29 PM

There are particular situations that take priority over there rest occurred during the race. There will be much to say about Baku, but the full acclamation this time would be for the Mexican driver, Sergio Perez, who has fulfilled three aspects that leave him well recognized. And a little more… He has finished in second place yesterday at qualifications for the podium, on what would be his first start; situation that was thwarted by rules, penalizing his first change of gear with five positions behind. And so the things, he had to start from the seventh position. He made an outstanding takeoff, to take two positions from drivers who are a real headache at the starts. So to finish ahead of Daniil Kvyat from Toro Rosso and Felipe Massa on his Williams on the first lap, it was phenomenal for rudder of Guadalajara. He has made a perfect reading of what would be the total test. With patience, the correct management and reading each note of the staff: he persecuted Ferrari, unstoppable and showing a first class tenacity. That is where his exceptional commitment shown last Sunday lays on, in another urban test which he knows how to master very well: Kimi Raikkonen (despite being third almost during the whole race) he had to be penalized with five seconds –subtracted– to his final score. Being within that gap, Sergio was sure to be nominally above the Finnish, but had the boldness and knew how to perform perfection and defeat him on the asphalt. Winning with all possible and plausible merit, his seventh F1 podium in his life, with today’s victory in what could probably be his best performance ever. It is true Nico Rosberg won in his silvered Mercedes. The second place got by Sebastian Vettel aboard his red Ferrari was good. But that gotten by wheel of Jalisco has been clamorous because he got it neatly, a third place that tastes to undisputed podium. He spent the race expecting for serious setbacks during the start; afterwards with the suspect of a flat tire of one of his Pirelli, and finally with the total certain of the presence of a Safety Car, to force the alignment order again. On the contrary, none of that happened it was a clean battle, in which everything that begins has to be improved. There are no complaints, and there is no way that just will be judged as boring, only for one reason that kills nonconformity: Rosberg who came out victorious, signed the second Grand Chelem of his life: the pole, the victory registering the fastest lap of the evening and getting points, from the green lights to the checkered flag waving at the finish line. When it is witnessed such excellent performance, anyone who complains about is because he doesn’t have a clue of what is happening. The ticket prices were truly worthy. Those who enjoyed it at the distance have been virtual witnesses of three of the greatest on the podium. It is fair to point that one of them is the Mexican with his appearance number 101. There is still FORMULA 1® for a while and conditions for coincidences are now set: to have a Mexican Grand Prix of apotheosis in October. Congratulations!
