The new F1 regulation about fuel flow will apply on the #ChineseGP.

It has been over a year since Daniel Ricciardo was disqualified from the opening of the 2014 season, as it was found that his Red Bull-Renault had breached the maximum fuel flow allowed for his turbo V6 power unit.

Now, the fuel flow issue resurfaced and F1 governing body has established a rule which will come into force for the Chinese Grand Prix.

So far, the FIA had watched the maximum fuel flow rate permitted, 100 kg per hour, with only the use of a standard flow meter fuel. Now, they are looking to check the pressure in other parts of the system, from the tank to the injectors.

The FIA suspects that some of the teams and manufacturers are finding ways to reverse the rule, increasing the flow of fuel in other areas, and thus ensure that they never exceed 100 kg per hour through the real meter.

They will be asked to upgrade their turbo system’s computer in order to withstand up to 500 bar.

This weekend, we'll see if this affects car performance on the track… or not.
