• The F1^®ESTA organizers keep promoting Mexico, giving life to the 2018 edition’s official poster.

After releasing the official art for FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO 2018™, the event organizers commissioned the preparation of a limited set of clay-made handicrafts that will be used exclusively to promote Mexico, its culture and crafts, as well as the race that will take place this year. Made at the pottery workshops from to the well-known family Soteno in Metepec, Estado de Mexico, sculptures are inspired by the traditional Tree of Life– a recognized Mexican handicraft comprised by a clay piece with little figures made with the same material, and all together represent a scene.

Inspired by the cultural richness in our country, organizers have decided to create its own FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO ™ Tree of Life. The piece contains 400 clay-made figures, of 8 kilograms weith and 70cm height. CEO of FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO™, Federico González Compeán, said: “We look forward to using the Grand Prix as a permanent platform to celebrate and promote Mexico world-wide. Beyond telling the history of our race, with this design we aim to celebrate Mexican culture and render a tribute through our crafts; besides of keep showing the world our country’s multiple facets”. On the other hand, Rodrigo Sánchez Peraza, Marketing and PR Director of FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO™ added: “We chose this element of the Mexican culture, because besides showing our country’s richness and colorful , given the own nature of handicrafts, it allows us reflecting perfectly, the essence of our race around the world”, he said. The grounding of the craft pieces – still developing – emulates the iconic trophy made by TANE for FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO™; little replies of different characteristic features of the race, such as drivers, racing cars, wheels, tires, engines, flags among others were mounted on top of it.
